In the last few days, survival items have been flying off our shelves.
Was there a major attack or severe natural disaster? No.
A movie, executive produced by Former President Barack Obama, premiered on Netflix.
This movie has stirred up a lot of controversy and made people more aware of how at-risk America is.
The movie Leave the World Behind is based on a bestselling novel from a few years ago that Obama also loved.
The general premise of the movie is that a family takes a vacation, but the vacation is interrupted when a cyberattack shuts down communication across the world and ushers in an apocalypse.
Unlike other end-of-the-world movies, the reason this one is getting so much attention is because there is no “gotcha” moment. There are no aliens that show up.
The world falls apart simply because a cyberattack takes down critical infrastructures. No one can get any information or communicate with anyone outside their homes.
It’s frightening because it appears to be a realistic portrayal of what could actually happen.
Especially considering the film was executive-produced by a former president.
Consider what Dan Bongino said about the film in his podcast this week:
“When I want to know about how the world’s going to end […] I want to see what a former president’s going to say about it because he may know some sh-. […] Obama knows some stuff that you probably don’t.”
In addition to Bongino’s commentary, the film’s director even suggested what Obama shared with him was scary.
According to the writer-director Sam Esmail, Obama sent him script notes.
He told Vanity Fair, “I am writing what I think is fiction, for the most part, I’m trying to keep it as true to life as possible, but I’m exaggerating and dramatizing. And to hear an ex-president say you’re off by a few details…I thought I was off by a lot! The fact that he said that scared the f- out of me.”
As a former president, Obama has access to more information than you and I do.
If he was able to provide realistic notes about what would happen in the event of a catastrophic cyberattack, we might want to pay attention.
Even if you aren’t a fan of his or have heard the film is “woke,” the idea of the film should give us reason to pause and then prepare.
While this is a fictional movie, the truth is there are many red flags that suggest fiction may become reality.
Read on to see why – and why the time is NOW to get communication gear in your emergency stockpile.
China Is Already Preparing for a Massive Cyberattack on the US
Just this week, the Washington Post released a report that China’s cyber army has already invaded critical US infrastructures.
The article states, “The Chinese military is ramping up its ability to disrupt key American infrastructure, including power and water utilities as well as communications and transportation systems, according to US officials and industry security officials. Hackers affiliated with China’s People’s Liberation Army have burrowed into the computer systems of about two dozen critical entities over the past year.”
These include…
- A water utility in Hawaii
- A West Coast port
- At least one gas and oil pipeline
- An attempt on Texas’s power grid
Fox News further explains, “The goal is for China to leverage a position over the United States to create chaos, cause panic, and disrupt logistics. […] The goal of any threatening campaign like this is to establish a pre-positioned advantage able to trigger a cascading cyberattack that compromises American infrastructure. An attack on many of these systems would be able to disrupt or destroy control and cause chaos inside the United States.”
Experts believe China is aiming to prevent the US military from aiding Taiwan.

Even the WEF Is Warning Us
My Patriot Supply followers know anytime we mention the World Economic Forum, it’s because they tend to push their ideologies on those of us who don’t want it.
But it’s also because they are a collection of unelected, wealthy, global leaders who seem to know where things are headed before the rest of us (sometimes because they push things in that direction; other times because of their money and access).
On January 18, 2021, the WEF published a short video on YouTube entitled "A cyber-attack with COVID-like characteristics?”
This is some of what is stated in the video, which you can watch in full here:
“A cyber-attack with COVID-like characteristics would spread faster and further than any biological virus. Its reproduction rate would be around 10 times greater than what we’ve experienced with the coronavirus. […] One of the fastest worms in history, the 2003 Slammer/Saphire worm doubled in size approximately every 8.5 seconds, infecting over 75,000 devices in ten minutes and almost 11 million devices in 24 hours. As the digital realm increasingly merges with our physical world, the ripple effects of cyber-attacks on our safety just keep on expanding and at a faster pace than what we are preparing for.”
No Real Plan for Our Fragile Grid or Massive Cyberattack
Another reason the film Leave the World Behind is creating such a stir is because it shows just how vulnerable we are because of how much we rely on technology.
This is alarming, for good reason.
There is no actual plan in place by our government for a massive apocalyptic cyberattack.
Think I’m exaggerating? Wrong.
Aaron Bloom, Executive Director of NextEra Energy Transmission, LLC, was quoted by RMI as saying, “The United States is the only macro grid in the world that doesn’t have a plan of any type [for dealing with the power grid].”
It’s not just cyber-attacks on the power grid America is unprepared for.
One congressional report predicted that if America were to suffer an EMP attack, “the result could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans.”
Government Issues Safety Warning for Holiday Season
In addition to the increasing threat from China’s cyber army, the FBI and DHS have issued warnings about “threats to public safety” over the holidays due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Fox News reports, “Per an assessment from the FBI and DHS, ongoing tensions related to the conflict between Israel and Hamas ‘likely heighten the threat of lone actor violence targeting large public gatherings throughout the winter, including holiday-related, faith-based, New Year’s Eve, and First Amendment protected events related to the conflict.’”
Make Preparations Now
Sadly, something good is coming out of all this alarming news.
More Americans are prepping.
A recent poll found that “39% of American Millennials and 40% of Gen Zers reported spending money on disaster prepping in the last 12 months.”
Brekke Wagoner, a Millennial who runs the YouTube channel Sustainable Prepping, told Fox News Digital, “I think for the first time, a lot of Millennials and Gen Zers are realizing how fragile our systems are. We've grown up in a time in which technology has meant we've had grocery stores that were always stocked and you can get anything from Amazon in 24 hours. Then all of a sudden the pandemic and some uncertainties in our national and international politics have made us rethink how all of these systems are not as stable as we assumed.”
As you prepare, make sure you think about the idea of a cyberattack that shuts all communication down.
Stock up on devices that will allow you to continue to communicate, such as solar generators and solar power banks for charging devices.
Invest in Faraday bags to protect your electronic devices.
If the grid goes down, telephone lines and cell phone towers won’t work. But CB radios will. Don’t wait. Learn how to use them now.
Don’t wait until it is too late, friends.
