The purpose of the United States Department of Defense is to ensure our nation’s security.
According to the official government website:
We Are Your Defense. The Department of Defense is America's largest government agency. With our military tracing its roots back to pre-Revolutionary times, the department has grown and evolved with our nation. Our mission is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and ensure our nation's security.
Ensure our nation's security.
Or is it more than that?
Just weeks ago, on September 27, 2024, a major amendment to the Department of Defense Directive 5240.01 came into effect, expanding the authority of the military to assist in domestic law enforcement activities and exercise the use of lethal force.
In other words, the DoD now has the authority to defend America against Americans.
What Is DoD Directive 5240.01?
Given the amount of disinformation and misinformation today, we want to focus on the facts.
Here’s what you need to know about DoD Directive 5240.01: DoD Intelligence and Intelligence-Related Activities and Defense Intelligence Component Assistance to Law Enforcement Agencies and Other Civil Authorities.
This 2024 version is a major update to the 2016 version, and it went into effect on September 27, 2024.
The 2016 version focused on intelligence collection and civil liberties protections.
However, the 2024 version additionally focuses on the military's role in assisting law enforcement.
This updated, expanded version of 5240.01 details circumstances when the DoD can assist local law enforcement—even authorizing the use of lethal force.
It also includes more language regarding domestic terrorism threats.
In short, if someone—even an American citizen—is deemed a potential threat to national security, the DoD can use lethal force to take that citizen down.
This is a direct copy of Section 3.3. Levels of Authority in DoD Directive 5240.01:
- Secretary of Defense Approval.
To sum this up, the DoD is authorized to allow military intervention in domestic affairs… such as civil disturbance following an election.
You can read DoD Directive 5240.01 in its entirety here.
The Government Already Has Authority to Spy on You
DoD Directive 5240.01 is alarming on its own, but it’s even more horrifying when you factor in the executive orders already in place.
For example, Executive Order 14067 allows the government to surveil and control your money.
Executive Order 14067 attempts to develop a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), which opens even more potential for government surveillance—and the possibility of the government controlling your money.
It’s so concerning that Minnesota Congressman Emmer introduced the CBDC Anti-Surveillance Act on February 22, 2024 to halt the progress of the Digital Dollar Project.
According to Emmer:
As the federal government seeks to maintain and expand financial control to which it has grown accustomed, the idea of the central bank digital currency has gained traction within the institutions of power in the United States as a government-controlled programmable money that can be easily weaponized into a surveillance tool.
The Government Already Has Authority to Seize Control
Now add in Executive Order 13603, which essentially gives the federal government power to seize control of everything, including:
- All commodities and products that are capable of being ingested by either human beings or animals (that's YOUR food).
- All forms of energy.
- All forms of civil transportation.
- All usable water from all sources.
- Health resources such as drugs, biological products, medical devices, materials, facilities, health supplies, services, and equipment.
The government has the power to seize essentially everything under the guise of national defense.
And Now the Military Has Authority to Exercise the Use of Lethal Force Domestically
This begs the question…
How long until this unchecked power is weaponized against dissenting voices, patriots, or anyone who challenges the status quo?
Let’s say you spend money to support causes you believe in, but that the government doesn’t like so much. They can block your access to your bank.
Let’s say you post a contrary opinion on social media. You could be deemed a domestic threat.
This sort of thing is already happening!
Consider this news story, JP Morgan freezes donations to Republicans who contested the 2020 election: “The country's largest lender was among many corporations that paused political giving following the deadly January 6 Capitol riots when supporters of former president Donald Trump tried to stop Congress from certifying the election.”
Now, the military has the authority to take you out.
This X post caught my attention, too:
Form your own opinion, but be aware. Don’t be surprised, friends. This is why we prepare.
