5 Biggest Threats to America's Food SupplyIf you’re wondering why we’ve written a lot about food security lately, it’s because there is a planned attack underway. 


An attack on our food: Who controls it, who grows it, what can be farmed, and what you can and can’t eat. 


And if we don’t wake up now and speak out – as well as prepare – starvation is a real possibility. So is being forced to eat synthetic foods that aren’t good for us. 


The perfect storm is here, friends. It’s on our doorstep. And we need to be aware so we can prepare now to protect our families. 


Keep reading for the biggest threats to America’s food supply. 

#1 The Government’s War on Farmers 

American farmers and farmland are under attack thanks to harsh governmental regulations that aim to put them out of business.

No, this isn’t some wild theory. 

The US government is purposely trying to STOP American farmers from farming so they can put the land into conservation.   

Deep inside the Inflation Reduction Act Bill, which President Biden signed on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 (page 529), there are provisions to pay farmers to not farm.

If that doesn’t scare you, this might…

The legislation also provides $20 million in funding for farms through programs, such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, the Regional Conservation Partnership Program, and the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program.

Also in the lineup for funding is the Conservation Reserve Program. This organization exists to take land out of production to cut greenhouse gas emissions by providing farmers with incentives (money).

Should farmers decide to farm, under this bill, the government will regulate how you grow, what you can grow, and what you can and can’t use as fertilizer.


State laws are just as threatening to our food security.

In 2015, Minnesota passed a seed law that prohibits gardeners from sharing or giving away seeds – unless they buy an annual permit, have the seeds tested, and attach a detailed label. The law also applies to seed libraries.

California passed an animal welfare regulation that requires more space for breeding pigs, egg-laying chickens, and veal calves. However, only 4% of hog operations were able to comply with the new regulations. 

These are just 2 in a long list of examples of how the government has taken upon itself to become “experts” in farming practices.

The issue is, politicians are NOT farmers –  they are politicians. 


History has shown how devastating the consequences of government interference is when they try to manipulate farming practices and institute land reform policies. 


I can only think of Mao's decision to modernize and “rethink” farming and how well that went…to the tune of 30 million dead.


Or Zimbabwe – once known as the breadbasket of Africa. Thanks to Mugabe’s land reform policies where the property rights of commercial farmers were revoked and the state resettled the confiscated farms with small‐​scale agriculturalists – people are still starving decades later.


Or, most recently, how Sri Lanka completely collapsed due to the systematic destruction of its agriculture. And now, citizens are starving in a county that once was self-sufficient. 


In the 3 cases above, it wasn’t that there wasn’t enough food being produced. It was governments screwing up the system and affecting how much is being produced


And that’s exactly what’s happening right now in the USA.  

#2 The WEF Agenda to “Rethink” Food Production

The global elites of the World Economic Forum have an exciting new plan for our food system: They are going to “rethink” our food ecosystem.


And do so to “mend our damaged relationship with food.”


Ever heard of the Food Action Alliance?


It’s the World Economic Forum's multi-stakeholder platform that aims to achieve “sustainable food systems that deliver better, faster, and at scale on food security and nutrition, inclusive growth and decent jobs, environmental sustainability and climate resilience.”


How are they going to do that? 


This comes directly from their website: “Food system transformation is among the most powerful ways to make progress on multiple SDGs – but the high level of systemic interdependency means that rebuilding food systems requires an unprecedented degree of cooperation.”


And do it under the guise of getting more food to more people and protecting the environment from harmful farming practices.


The problem is: They are wanting to take thousands of years of what’s worked, toss it aside, and redesign how we grow, process, and produce food. (If you’re thinking of Chairman Mao, you aren’t alone.) 


Transforming the food ecosystem isn’t something that can happen overnight. And, as we saw in Sri Lanka, if not done properly, it can lead to mass starvation.


Only this time, we’re talking about starvation on a global scale – except the elites won’t starve, we will.  


The WEF’s initiatives continue to get more and more worrisome. 


Along with their push to get us to eat bugs and have nothing and be happy, they’re now waging war on rice due to rice farming’s methane emissions.


One has to question a group that is targeting rice. Not only does rice provide one-fifth of the calories consumed worldwide, it’s the third largest crop in the world.


What will happen when the rice industry gets regulated to a point of not being able to produce? 


I have one word for you: STARVATION.

#3 Consolidation of US Farms

Corporations are gobbling up small farms and buying up farmland, and the majority of farmland is owned by a few billionaires and foreign entities. 


According to the USDA, “Eighty percent of rented farmland (283 million acres, 30 percent of all farmland) is owned by non-operator landlords, those that own land used in agricultural production but are not actively involved in farming.”


And if that’s not bad enough… Agricultural Daily reports, “Between 2004 and 2014, […] foreign investors doubled their American farmland holdings, growing from 13.7 million to 27.3 million acres, which is approximately the size of Tennessee. And while this represents only about 2 percent of total US farmland, the value of the land in question leapt from $17.4 billion to $42.7 billion during the same period.”


US farmland in the hands of a few is a serious threat to our food security. 

What intentions do these corporations, billionaires, and foreign governments have? 

What’s stopping them from deciding to stop farming the land, lobbying congress for their own gain, pushing out small farms, and heavily influencing our nation’s food supply?

The answer: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

#4 Food Plant Fires 

As if regulating farmers, pushing for corporate farms, and creating fake food isn’t bad enough, there’s something fishy going on with our nation's food processing and livestock facilities…


They are burning to the ground


The large number of fires destroying food plants and factories in recent years is alarming – with 2023 looking to be even more destructive than last year.


Should these continue, we can expect more disruption to our already fragile food supply chain…as well as more shortages and even higher prices

#5 Cyberattacks on the Food Sector

The cybersecurity threat to the food industry is growing…and it’s expected to get worse. 


“In the final quarter of last year, US cybersecurity company Dragos reported the food and beverage sector was the victim of more attacks than any sector other than manufacturing,” according to Just Food.


Earlier this year, Dole was a victim of a ransomware attack, and the breach resulted in a shortage of some fresh fruit and vegetable products. 


In 2022, Maple Leaf Foods, a meat processing company in Canada, experienced a cyberattack which impacted business. 


There are countless more on record. And, sadly, countless more to come. 


Attacks on our food facilities or food transportation infrastructure can have far-reaching effects – from shortages to higher prices. 

The Time to Prepare Is NOW

The threats above paint a bleak outlook for the food security of our nation. But there is always HOPE things will turn out differently because…

We still have a voice.
We still have a choice.
And we can still prepare.  


Talk to your friends and family about what’s going on and make a plan to prepare for your own food security. 


Growing indoors

Get some heirloom seeds and get a garden going. Learn other ways to garden indoors and without much water.
